At Smile Designers, our goal, as you can probably guess from our name, is to help ensure that you have a smile you absolutely love. Our dental practice was founded with one goal in mind — to ensure that no matter who you are, you get the best dental care possible. That’s why in today’s post, we’re answering a question that you may have always wondered — what happens if you only brush your teeth once a day?

How Many Times a Day Should You Brush Your Teeth?

Like many things in life, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to answering this question. Many studies show that brushing your teeth only once a day is adequate for maintaining your oral health if you brush properly, but for many, brushing your teeth once a day isn’t enough.

Take the “More Is Better” Approach to Brushing

Our advice? The more often you can brush your teeth, the better your oral health will be. In other words, brushing in the morning, after lunch, and in the evening is your best bet, but if you feel the need to brush more often than that, it certainly won’t hurt. It’s important to keep in mind that although some people can indeed get through with only brushing their teeth once a day, that’s not the approach we recommend.
